Does my diet cause yellow or discoloured teeth?
Certain foods high in tannins are potential causes of yellow teeth. Some of the most common causes of tooth discolouration include drinking beverages such as coffee, tea, dark soft drinks and wine. Dark foods like curries and beetroots also stain.
Does having yellow teeth mean they are unhealthy?
Yellow teeth can sometimes be a sign of poor oral hygiene, as it’s the colour of dental plaque associated with tooth decay. Your teeth can be discoloured but still be healthy. It’s a personal preference on how white you’d like your teeth to be.
How can I prevent teeth staining?
Taking care of your teeth is the best way to prevent staining. Brushing your teeth at least twice a day, flossing at least once, and using a fluoride mouthwash are ways to keep your oral hygiene up.
Do teeth dull as we get older?
Yellow teeth are common as patients age. Yellow teeth occur when tooth enamel wears away either from age, dietary habits, smoking, or genetics. As the tooth enamel wears away over time, the yellow dentin layer of the tooth becomes exposed.
Can medicine darken my teeth?

Will smoking stain my teeth?
