Does my health scheme cover dental emergencies
Most insurance plans cover treatment for dental emergencies, depending on what needs to be fixed. Call the office and speak with our friendly staff, and we will check for you.
A tooth fell out, what should I do?
Holding by the top of the tooth, rinse with milk or very briefly with water. Inspect for any cracks. Try and insert back into it’s socket. Keep it in place by biting on a gauze pad or clean cloth until you can get to our practice.
What should I do if I chipped or broke a tooth?
Rinse your mouth with warm salty water. Use a cold pack to reduce any swelling. Locate the broken piece of tooth if possible and bring it in to your appointment.
What’s a short term fix for massive toothache?
Clean the area around the affected tooth. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water. Floss around the tooth to help dislodge any particles of food that may be contributing to the pain. If you’re still in pain, ring our office for advice.
I lost a tooth crown – what should I do?
Put the crown in a safe place and give us a ring to set up your emergency appointment. We’ll have a thorough look to see what’s going on, clean up your tooth and reapply the crown.
