Can grey fillings be made white?
Yes. Most of our patients choose to get white fillings whenever they need need a filling. It’s straightforward to remove the old filling and replace with a composite resin material custom coloured to match your natural teeth.
Is an open margin where a crown meets the natural tooth a problem?
Open margins are the high risk spot for new cavities where bacteria can seep underneath the dental work and cause new cavities, so they should be addressed when they are noticed.
Should I get a crack in a tooth fixed even if it doesn’t hurt?
Cracks become more visible as they collect stain over time. Any opening that is large enough to collect stain is also collecting bacteria and becomes a high risk site for cavities and should be treated at your earliest convenience.
Gaps have developed between molars – is this an issue?
Small gaps can occur as a result of teeth grinding, gum disease, or changes in the bite. Food particles can get caught in between teeth becoming fuel for bacteria and causing dental issues such as gum disease.
