Dr Jon Sprague
Dr Jon Sprague

Dr Sprague graduated from the dental school of the University of Melbourne in 1993. After an intern year at the Royal Dental Hospital and the Goulburn Valley Base Hospital he commenced work in private practice in Elwood. He already had a keen interest in implant dentistry and orthodontics and started taking further studies in both these fields.

After five years private practice he was keen to spread his wings and flew off to London to work and discover Europe. What was to be a two year stint became twelve years. He worked at an amazing cosmetic private practice that really enabled him to hone his skills. He underwent surgical implant training, Invisalign training in 2005, and was mentored in his first full mouth rehabilitation cases (smile makeover).

The surgical training enabled him to place implants as well as to restore them with crowns. Jon loves to be able to offer someone a new tooth when unfortunately, one of their natural teeth needs removal.

Jon returned to Melbourne in 2013 and started working straight away at Dental on Clarendon and hasn’t looked back. He loves this practice and the friendly environment it is. Patients are greeted with smiles from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. It’s a great place to come to work to in the morning.

Jon has been doing orthodontics all of his 26 years as a dentist and Invisalign since 2005 when it was still in its infancy. He has seen it become more and more sophisticated to become the amazing brand and product that it is today. He is passionate about invisalign and has seen countless times how it touches people’s lives. Teeth aren’t hidden behind brackets and wire braces while they are being straightened. Patients can actually see their teeth straighten week by week. And each visit the smiles get broader and broader, none more than Jon’s. What great job satisfaction to be able to bring a smile to someone’s face. Now with the new 3D scanner its even easier because there are no mucky impressions needed, it is all digital.

Another of Jon’s passions is digital smile design. In the past when doing veneers and smile makeovers the technician would have to guess the length and width and shape of the veneer teeth and at the trial stage we would have to make changes so both the dentist and patient were happy. Now with digital technology we can test different shapes and lengths of teeth so really see before the technician even starts what the final result could look like. It’s a great tool and a game changer in Smile design, not to mention fun to use.

Jon’s steady calm nature makes him a natural at helping people suffering from phobias and anxiety. Even the nervous ones can leave with a smile and they surprise themselves what they can achieve.

Dr Bal Reddy
Dr Bal Reddy

Dr Reddy was born and raised in the Bayside suburbs of Melbourne. She graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2005 with honours, after which she worked in Echuca in rural Victoria for a few years before moving to Adelaide. In Adelaide she worked in both public and private dental clinics, as well as tutored dental students at The University of Adelaide where she enjoyed helping the students grow in skill and in confidence. She is currently involved The University of Melbourne’s mentor program which aims to provide practical support to final year dental students as they transition into the workforce.

Dr Reddy greatly believes that being a health care professional is a privilege and she has spent a lot of time volunteering her services to those less fortunate. She was involved in The University of Adelaide’s Community Outreach Dental Program which provides dental care to the most vulnerable members of our society, including those that are homeless, at risk of homelessness, and also refugees. Being involved in such a program taught Dr Reddy that providing oral care is not just important from a health point of view, but it can also be vital in helping people have greater confidence and a greater sense of self worth. Dr Reddy has also travelled overseas to provide volunteer dental treatment – in 2013 she travelled to India as part of a multidisciplinary group that included doctors, nurses, optometrists and physiotherapists to provide health care and liaise with local agencies to improve services.

Outside of dentistry, Dr Reddy’s main passion is for Latin dancing which has taken her to South America a couple of times, and has also encouraged her attempts at learning Spanish. In 2015 Dr Reddy completed a Graduate Diploma in Language and Culture Studies with The University of South Australia which helped her hone her Spanish skills – however the real test is always when trying to communicate in a foreign country. She would love to go to South America again to continue dancing and continue her efforts in mastering another language.

Dr Reddy is passionate about preventative dentistry for the whole family. She strongly believes that by being fully informed you will be best placed to make the optimum decision for your individual needs, and the needs of your family. She will go the extra mile to help you achieve your dental goals.
