Damon Braces - A Gentler and Faster Alternative

One of the newer solutions is a system called Damon Braces. Invented by Dr. Dwight Damon, it uses advanced low friction braces and lower forces. Along with flexible “memory” wire, it allows Dr. Wang to move teeth and surrounding bone in remarkable ways.

What are Damon Braces, and How do They Work?

Damon Braces do not use elastic ties to attach the brackets to the orthodontic wire, instead the wire is attached with a slide mechanism which moves naturally with the teeth as then align to the correct positions.

Less Pain

Because of the slide mechanism, there is less friction on the teeth, which reduces the force applied to the teeth.

In addition, they don't require tightening as often.

Reduced Treatment Time

Many of our patients have experienced a reduced treatment time as compared to traditional braces since the teeth can move a lot more freely.

Smaller Brackets

Because there is less force being applied to the teeth, the brackets attached to your teeth can be smaller, which means it's less obvious when talking to your friends or coworkers.

Are Damon Braces Invisible?

The brackets come in both a clear material as well as metal. Whereas traditional braces come in metal and ceramic teeth-colored material, Damon clear brackets are almost transparent, so they are less obvious to the casual observer.
