Discreetly Straighten Your Smile With Invisalign at Our CBD Office

The subtle way to straighten your teeth.

When it comes to first impressions, a bright and cheerful smile can go a long way, making those around you feel welcome, and displaying an air of confidence.

Some of us, however, feel shy and self-conscious about our smiles due to imperfections like crooked teeth, wide gaps, or other alignment issues.

Perhaps you’ve considered braces in the past, but the cons of traditional braces seemed to outweigh the benefits. Not only are traditional braces unsightly, they can also cause pain, gum irritation, staining or discolouration, and even restrict you from eating some of the foods you love. As appealing as that beautifully straight smile might be, this seems like a high price to pay.

Luckily, modern advances in dentistry have finally introduced another option, Invisalign. Dr. Hoffenberg and his friendly staff are ready to help you on your path to a big and confident smile with this modern and discreet approach.

A Popular Orthodontic Treatment

Invisalign is the modern, 21st-century approach to a straighter smile. Made from BPA free thermoplastic, each clear aligner is created from a custom mould of your teeth, assuring the perfect treatment for your circumstances. The nearly invisible aligners snap into place over your teeth, gradually shifting your teeth into the desired position.

Unlike braces, Invisalign is removed when it’s time to eat, allowing you to continue eating your favourite foods. Simply remove the trays before eating, then brush your teeth and replace them afterwards.

Every two weeks, you will receive a new set of aligners to keep your progress on track. This eliminates the traditional practice of tightening wires to move your teeth, making the process easy and relatively painless. Each new set of trays you receive are custom made for your teeth and your needs. You’ll be able the see your results as your treatment progresses!

Benefits of Invisalign

Aside from the obvious cosmetic factors, straighter teeth are also healthier teeth! Tooth alignment can have a big impact on your oral health, alleviating gum and jaw issues as well as preventing future dental issues. Crooked teeth can create crevices and hiding places for bacteria to form, contributing to cavities or possibly even gum disease!

  • Happy and healthy gums. No room for plaque and tartar to hide.
  • Makes cleaning easier and more effective.
  • Keep your mouth healthy.
  • Lower your risk of injury or damage because of protruding teeth hitting something or causing sores inside your cheeks.

Common Questions About Invisalign

Are The Aligners Comfortable?
When you first start treatment, there may be a slight adjustment period during which the aligners may feel “strange” or slightly uncomfortable. But don’t worry, most patients become accustomed to their new aligners fast, and after a while, hardly even notice that they’re there at all.
How Long Does Treatment Take?

Invisalign aligners are kept in place 24-hours a day (except for when you’re brushing, flossing, and eating) and changed out every two to three weeks as the teeth straighten. Treatment usually takes between 10 and 24 months depending on much your teeth need to be moved or rotated. Dr. Hoffenberg can advise you on the expected treatment time.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

The cost for Invisalign will depend on how many aligners it will take to get the job done (can be anywhere from six to forty-eight aligners). While the price can vary from dentist to dentist, you will find it ranges between $8,000 to $9,500 for a full case. However, with Dr. Hoffenberg’s money saving offers on Smile Deals®, you can now get a full set of aligners plus all your follow up office visits for just $6,500!

Is Invisalign better than traditional metal braces?

Some cases can be treated faster with Invisalign. We prefer clear aligners because you can take the aligners out and clean your teeth easily.

Can Invisalign make my smile wider?
Yes and this has been demonstrated by most of our clients as you can see in the gallery.
Since having my braces removed, my teeth have shifted. Can Invisalign fix this?

We recommend that anyone who has completed orthodontic treatment, whether braces or Invisalign treatment, use a retainer to prevent teeth from gradually shifting back towards their initial position. Because every case is different, we will work with your unique circumstances to confirm if you need post-treatment retainers, and if they are needed for both upper and lower teeth.

What are “attachments”?

Depending on your specific treatment, some of the movements may require either “attachments” or “ridges” to help the aligner grip the teeth. These bumps, or wells, are where the aligner grips the attachment Dr. Hoffenberg places on your teeth. The attachments are actually small pieces of enamel-colored composite affixed to your teeth that are then gripped by bumps on your aligners. The ridges are slim indentations in your aligners. We may use one or both of these features to attempt to achieve the desired tooth movement.

Does Invisalign hurt?

Although Invisalign may make your teeth mildly sore (similar to braces), there will be very little discomfort involved. The Invisalign trays are very comfortable, and can be taken out to eat, drink, brush, and floss.

What to Expect

Getting Used to Invisalign

When you first start your treatment, it will take a little time to get used to having the aligners in your mouth on a regular basis. After a while, you won’t even notice they’re there! You’ll be wearing them for about 22 hours a day, taking them out for eating and cleaning.

New Aligners and Regular Checkups

You’ll receive a new set of aligners every two weeks. Each new set of aligners will continue your progress, bringing your teeth closer to your goal bit by bit. You may experience mild discomfort when first changing to a new set of aligners. This is normal, and most people find the discomfort eases over time.

Post-Treatment

Once your treatment is complete, you’ll receive a final set of aligners. These will be designed to keep your teeth in place for the months and years following the Invisalign process: simply wear them every night, and clean them out every morning for a winning smile for years to come!

Keep your retainer clean because bacteria can easily get inside your retainers and later infect your teeth. Use a soft toothbrush with soap and water to clean your retainer.

Make sure to come in for your regular check and clean every 6 months. At that time, we’ll check to make sure there are no issues.
