Do you have broken, decayed, discoloured, or misaligned teeth? Having imperfections on your teeth can make you self-conscious and unable to smile. Whether your teeth are cracked, stained or misaligned, dental bonding can often be used to restore your beautiful smile. Dr. Rammo will apply the composite resin to the rest of your teeth to seamlessly blend in and cover any imperfections. We’ll give you the confidence to flash those pearly whites.

Tooth bonding is a cosmetic dental procedure that repairs chipped, cracked, or broken teeth. It can also help lengthen your teeth, remove gaps between teeth, and brighten discoloured teeth. The bond is a composite resin that takes over where your damaged tooth was to make it look as good as new.

Benefits of Teeth Bonding

Natural-looking: The procedure uses composite resins that are designed to match the colour of your teeth. Its finish is smooth and also mimics the appearance of your teeth so no one can know you underwent dental bonding. What’s more, the composite resin is durable but also flexible. This means your dentist can adjust it at any point in the future after your treatment.

Requires less time: Dental bonding treatment takes less time compared to crowns and veneers treatment. Your tooth bonding procedure can be done only in one appointment. The procedure can take between 30 to 60 minutes per tooth. It doesn’t need to be done in a dental laboratory. Dr. Rammo can perform it in the office. If you want your smile back soon without the hassle of a longer treatment course, dental bonding is the right procedure for you. What’s more, the treatment can last for years.

Additional Benefits of Dental Bonding

Safe: Having a broken or decayed tooth makes your gums and teeth susceptible to bacteria. With dental bonding, your dentist applies the material that bonds directly to the tooth. It provides a perfect seal that keeps your teeth and gums bacteria-free, protecting them from infection. Unlike a silver filling, the material and composite used in tooth bonding are biocompatible and pure. This means it doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals that can damage your body.

Non-invasive: Don’t want to undergo surgery to fix your damaged tooth? Tooth bonding may be the right dental procedure for you. It involves no alterations to your existing tooth structure. Dr. Rammo will simply apply the composite resin to your teeth to repair and restore them. Additionally, you don’t have to replace them in future.

Fixes a variety of imperfections: If you have minor dental flaws, tooth bonding is the most preferred treatment option for minor dental flaws. It can fix chipped teeth, fill the gaps between the teeth, brighten your smile, and make your teeth more aligned.

Affordable: Tooth bonding is one of the most cost-effective dental procedures. Since you may only need one office visit, you won’t have to spend so much money.

Common Questions From Patients

Dental bonding can address many dental concerns, including misshapen teeth, misaligned teeth, cracked teeth, chipped teeth, decayed teeth, stained teeth and gaps between teeth.

Dental bonding is relatively easy and simple, usually performed in a single appointment. It is also quite affordable compared to other options, as well as requiring removal of less enamel compared to other options.

The composite resin material we use can be used for bonding to match the shade of your teeth, and no one will know you have had dental bonding performed on your teeth.

What kind of care is required after dental bonding?

We advise you to take care of bonded teeth just like you would your normal teeth: brush twice a day and floss every day. Come in for a check and clean twice a year. Maintaining strong and healthy teeth and it will be that much easier to enjoy bonded teeth for years to come.

How Our Tooth Bonding Process Works

Step 1 – Initial Consultation: Dr. Rammo will thoroughly evaluate your teeth to find out if they need tooth bonding. We’ll use a shade guide to select a composite resin colour that will closely match the colour of your tooth.

Step 2 – Preparation: You’ll require little preparation before tooth bonding. You may not have anesthesia during the procedure. But if your tooth chipped near the nerve, or it’s badly decayed, Dr. Rammo will numb the area first. We’ll also clean your tooth if needed to remove any decay.

Step 3 – The Bonding Process: Dr. Rammo will roughen the surface of your tooth and apply a conditioning liquid. This will help the bonding material adhere to your tooth. Next, the composite resin will be applied, moulded, and smoothed to create the desired shape. Dr. Rammo will then harden the composite resin with a bright light or laser. Once the material hardens, we’ll further trim and shape it to create the size, shape, and length of your liking. To complete the bonding process, the Dr. Rammo will polish the material to match the sheen of your other teeth.

Step 4 – Post-Care Treatment: Your teeth don’t need special care after dental bonding. Simply follow good dental hygiene practices like brushing your teeth at least twice a day, flossing, and visiting your dentist regularly. Since bonding material can chip, you should avoid chewing on hard objects.
