Open For Business COVID Update

To all my wonderful patients

Due to the great reduction in new COVID-19 cases and the success of the Australian people in observing the recommendations, we are now in a situation where we can ease the restrictions placed on dentistry. The Australian Dental Association have announced that restrictions have been eased.

Quoting the ADA: “The easing of restrictions is a consequence of an assessment of risk by the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) and the National Cabinet using the framework the ADA put forward initially to the AHPPC, and after consultation with the ADA over the last few days.”

What Does This Mean For Our Dental Practice?

From Monday 27th April we will be able to look after many more dental issues.

I am now able to perform:

  • Consultations and smile assessments on new or existing patients.
  • Orthodontics including Invisalign
  • Any emergency procedure
  • Most fillings
  • Botox and fillers
  • Any jaw joint issues
  • Dentures and mouthguards
  • In-surgery whitening
  • Gum care in patients who require regular cleaning to prevent progression of their gum disease.

Please do not hesitate to call Amanda or Giselle if you have any questions about whether your treatment is appropriate.

Keeping You Safe

We have many special initiatives to keep our patients and our staff safe. As well as our accredited infection control, we will be spacing appointments, temperature taking where appropriate and looking after any patients more at risk from COVID-19 in isolation.

Of course, if you have any cold or flu symptoms please delay your treatment until you are better.

To all my patients that had to delay their treatment due to the previous restrictions, I thank you for your patience. Amanda and Giselle are taking pre-bookings for appointments after the 11th May and will be in touch with you soon.

I am looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

Best Regards Dr Downing BDS (Syd Uni), GD Aesthetic Orthodontics
