Australian Dental Association Lifts Level 3 Restrictions for Dental Practices

We have some great news and we are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel with the announcement that Level 3 restrictions which were imposed on us at the end of March will now be lifted and we are moving to Level 2 restrictions.

The amendment is due to come into the place on the 28th April 2020. This is fantastic news as it means we can start seeing a broader range of patients who do not only fall under the ‘’Emergency’’ category. It also means we are starting to get a little bit of normality in these unsettling times.

ADA Dr Carmelo Bonanno announced that “Dentists have the highest level of infection control standards which is what makes it viable for them to work under the Level 2 restrictions”.

While the move to Level 2 means we do still have limitations on what we can do, additional treatments will be possible including examinations, fillings and hand scaling.

As the Level 3 restriction meant we had to reschedule all our patients our team will now be working through our appointment book to try and bring your appointment forward to a sooner date that suits you.

Invisalign Treatment

We are still giving our Invisalign patients the option to sign up to and continue using Dental Monitoring which will allow our dentists to virtually review you treatment progress, this provides a more simpler, immediate solution to assess, monitor treatment, and communicate with our patients as much as needed.

The Dental Monitoring app is prescribed by our doctors for patients who are in, or about to begin orthodontic treatment. Our patients can download the DM app from the App Store or Google Play.

With the Dental Monitoring app on your iOS and Android phone, you will be able to:

  • Capture your Invisalign treatment progress
  • Communicate with our team virtually and
  • Stay SAFE reducing your risk of infection with social distancing and self-isolation.
  • Save time not having to drive to the dental practice.
  • Save on fuel costs.
  • Avoid parking issues.

Thanks to automated or live messaging, we can control your treatment remotely and guide you through all stages of your Invisalign progress.

How does the Dental Monitoring (DM) work?

  1. Our patients use the app to take intraoral selfies with their smartphone whilst using the DM cheek retractors and / or scan box.
  2. Photos are then automatically shared with the dentist.
  3. Our team virtually monitors your progress.

How much does Dental Monitoring (DM) cost?

Dental Monitoring charges a fee of $15.95 plus GST per month, per patient to collect and process the data and to make this data available to our dentists so they can monitor your Invisalign progress. They also charge $59 for the new scan box and grey cheek retractors.

The prices above are “at cost” to our patients, with NO additional changes from Dentique Dental Spa. However, to minimise our administration overheads, we will be processing the DM fees in blocks of six months, or less if your treatment is shorter than this.

You can purchase the new scan box and grey cheek retractors online from the DM shop at: https://shop-us.dental-monitoring.com/

Alternatively, we have a limited supply of the original blue DM cheek retractors that you can use instead of the scan box and grey cheek retractors. These are available on a first in, first serve basis at a cost of $15.00 plus GST.

We will be able to post your future aligners, Dental Monitoring instructions and the blue cheek retractors as soon as we receive your orders. We request these orders be done via e-mail.  We can process payments via phone and post them Express with Australia Post. The postage cost is $15.00.

Please note that we still have some of the blue check retractors in stock in the practice.

Our dentists will be available for virtual consultations and I will be sharing in another e-mail more about this process.

Please feel free to e-mail us and let us know of any other questions that you may have. We are SO excited to start seeing our patients again and cannot wait to see you all in our practice very soon.
